Huskies Named to PSAC Fall Top 10 Team
Two Bloomsburg University student-athletes, senior Allie Barber (Pittston Township, Pa./Pittston Area) of women's soccer and senior Nick McGuire (Mountain Top, Pa./Crestwood) of men's cross country, have been named to the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Fall Top 10 Team as chosen by the league's sports information directors. The PSAC Top 10 Awards are designed to recognize ten student-athletes (five female and five male) each season who excel in both the classroom and is athletic competition.

Wilkes University students will complete internships as part of their academic work in the winter semester 2019. Internships complement academic work, provide students with practical experience in their field of study and prepare them to enter careers. Career Services at Wilkes University provides opportunities for students to clarify their career goals via individual coaching, consultations, interest assessments and life-career planning courses. Wilkes University Students Inducted into Lambda Pi Eta
Eight Wilkes University students were inducted into Lambda Pi Eta, the communication studies honor society of the National Communication Association. A ceremony for their induction was held on Nov. 1, 2018. In order to become a member, students must complete 60 semester credit-hours, obtain a minimum overall cumulative grade point average of 3.0, complete the equivalent of 12 semester credit-hours in communication studies core curriculum and have a minimum grade point average of 3.25 for all communication studies courses.

Five Wilkes University students who serve as Kirby Scholars will be recognized at Wilkes University's Allan P. Kirby Center for Free Enterprise and Entrepreneurship third annual mentor breakfast. The center offers a mentoring program for new businesses and maintains a network of advisors who offer their services on a limited pro-bono basis. Wilkes University students are participating in summer research with Amjad Nazzal, associate professor of physics, and Henry Castejon, chair of mechanical engineering and professor of materials science and chemistry, as they conduct a series of experiments in the chemistry department. During summer 2018, more than 150 undergraduate students at Wilkes University are engaged in research. Working with faculty on meaningful research is one of the hallmarks of a Wilkes education. Wilkes University Students Conduct Interdisciplinary Summer Research
Wilkes University students are conducting interdisciplinary research this summer with Del Lucent, associate professor of physics. The research students are learning about mathematics, computer science, physics, and biochemistry related to the protein folding research project. Their day-to-day tasks involve writing computer programs and optimizing data analysis workflows. They are also learning how to perform computer simulations of protein folding using molecular dynamics simulation packages. During summer 2018, more than 150 undergraduate students at Wilkes University are engaged in research. Working with faculty on meaningful research is one of the hallmarks of a Wilkes education. Students at Wilkes have all of the educational opportunities of a large university in the mentoring culture of a small college.

Kutztown University has conferred degrees on more than 1,225 students during the winter and spring semesters. Kutztown University announces degree conferment twice a year, once in the winter and once in the summer. Commencement exercises are held in May and December; however, students finish the requirements for graduation throughout the entire year. The cumulative grade point average necessary for honor distinction is: with honor (cum laude) 3.40; with high honor (magna cum laude) 3.60 and with highest honor (summa cum laude) 3.80.
